10 years! Yes, already! For the last ten years, the Virée Blues Boréale team has been sharing their love for the Blues with Outaouais area fans. More than 200 shows, 100 guests and to more than 24 000 fans! Now renowned for its one-of-a-kind features bringing together on its stage the best of the Blues, the Virée Blues Boréale squad would like to celebrate with you its tenth anniversary with nothing less than a complete edition made of double-headers!
To launch this iron-clad programming at Le Petit Chicago, a flagship group of Chicago’s contemporary Blues. Our guests total over 100 years of Blues expertise, have recorded 12 albums and feature a Grande Dame of the Blues often compared to the great Etta James, Inetta Visor, and the virtuoso of the chromatic harmonica, Pierre Lacocque – with us, from Chicago, Mississippi Heat. And, their special guest, the leader of the Boppin’ Blues Band and of the Goodmen Band who was also the guitarist for the late Miss Linda “Chocolate Thunder” Rodney, Mister Mike Goudreau.
This will be our last performance in Canada until I return to Ottawa next April, and I want to turn it into a party. The venue does not actually pay the band, other than a $100.00 bar tab, so we need to charge a cover to pay the guys in the band and help me out with my trip expenses ... however I would like to give everyone who comes a copy of my new CD "Notes From The Underground". If you already have a copy of my CD, then I'd like to buy you a drink (from the $100.00 bar tab offered by the club).
We will start at 8 pm sharp and play two sets of originals and blues standards done in our style....
I'd like to see my friends new and old. I don't get much of a chance to see you guys, so this could be a great night. We can stay and have a bit of an after party. Socializing in real time!
This has been a great summer for me and my family… the birth of my grandson Kai, the release of my music and radio play worldwide, tours in Europe and Asia, meeting so many new friends as I travel. It's really something to cherish.
I hope I will see you at the "Steve Groves Spanish Tour Going Away Party" Saturday October 11. Come early. We start at 8 sharp.
Thanks and we'll see you soon,

Mike Branton made a name for himself as a young guitar prodigy evolving into a triple threat: inventive improvisational soloist, original singer, and songwriter. Together they are a powerhouse and this night they will be supported by The Mighty Duck Blues Band, a collective of award winning veteran players.
Despite cost increases, the price for these nights remains at $60 per person (the same as the past 3 years). That includes a delicious full course buffet dinner, the show and dancing.
